Everything You Need To Know About Recycling – Virtual

Recycling guidelines can often be confusing, leaving many residents uncertain about which items are accepted and which are not. This session will address the concept of “wish-cycling”—the practice of placing non-recyclable items into recycling bins in the hope that they will be processed. Participants will learn about the most common items that fall into this category and the challenges they create for recycling systems. An expert from the Washington County Department of Public Health and Environment will provide clear guidance on how to recycle more effectively, offering practical tips to improve household recycling habits and reduce contamination in the recycling stream. This class is designed to help residents gain confidence in their recycling practices, ensuring that their efforts contribute to a more efficient and sustainable waste management system.
