Meet Our November 2026 Positive Change Recipients

Each time you shop with us, you have a chance to directly support local nonprofits by rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar. It may only be a few cents or spare change, but your generosity makes a huge impact. Every dollar donated is passed on to the nonprofit recipient.

Rivers Co-op Markets are proud to support Positive Change recipients serving the neighborhoods and communities around our stores. Learn more about the local nonprofits we’re supporting this month.

St Paul Stores Recipient: Department of Indian Work

Supporting culturally specific food programs for Native Americans in Ramsey County.

Founded in 1906, Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul partners with more than 150 organizations, including over 60 faith communities, to serve thousands of East Metro residents each year. Through programs addressing hunger, housing instability, youth development, and economic empowerment, the organization helps individuals and families move toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Their mission is to harness the power of diverse faith communities to promote economic self-sufficiency and create lasting change for individuals and families facing homelessness, food insecurity, and economic hardship.

A key program is the Department of Indian Work (DIW), which operates Ramsey County’s only culturally specific food shelf for Native Americans. DIW provides nutritious, culturally relevant food through a dignity-centered SuperShelf model while also supporting Native families through youth enrichment and economic opportunity programs.

Funds from the Positive Change program will be used to purchase culturally specific food to support the DIW’s SuperShelf Food Shelf and ensure that individuals and families have consistent access to healthy, respectful, and relevant food options.

Stillwater Store Recipient: River Market Growers, Grazers, Makers & Bakers Fund

Investing in the future of local food.

The Growers, Grazers, Makers & Bakers Fund is River Market Community Co-op’s grant program that provides financial support to local farmers, producers, and food processors throughout the St. Croix Valley. Funded through customer donations, the program helps local food businesses invest in equipment, infrastructure, supplies, and other resources that improve productivity, sustainability, and long-term success.

Our mission is to support local farmers, producers, and processors while strengthening a resilient and sustainable regional food system.

Round Up donations are awarded as grants to local food producers for projects such as equipment purchases, infrastructure improvements, production expansion, and other investments that help strengthen local farms and food businesses. These projects support a thriving regional food system and help ensure local food remains available in our community.
